Former Grizzlies Starter Reacts to Being Traded
Included in the blockbuster trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, sharpshooting guard Grayson Allen has a new home with the Phoenix Suns. Sharing his hilarious reaction to the news, Allen sent out this Tweet following the trade:
In his most recent Tweet before the trade went down, Allen promised Bucks fans he would no longer be changing his number, but that of course became irrelevant with his inclusion in the Lillard trade. Landing in Phoenix, Allen should have a significant role on one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
After just 38 games his rookie season with the Utah Jazz, Allen was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies where he appeared in 88 games across two seasons, starting 38 of them. Allen emerged as a high-level starting guard in his final season with Memphis, and really solidified himself as an elite sniper with the Bucks.
In 264 career regular season games, Allen has converted 39.5% of his three point attempts. This clip jumps to 40.6% in his 24 career postseason games, which projects to be very important on a Suns team that doesn't have much reliable depth to fill out their very top-heavy roster.
There is likely to still be a lot of player movement between now and the start of the new season, but Allen seems to have found his new home in Phoenix with the Suns.
