Former NBA All-Star Reveals How Derrick Rose Will Help Ja Morant

Isaiah Thomas has some high expectations for Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose may not be the same MVP player he once was, but he still has a veteran presence that very few can match. There are very few players in the NBA that are more beloved by other players than Derrick Rose, and former NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas believes that's why it'll help Ja Morant.

Thomas went on Twitter to make a bold statement about the Ja Morant and Derrick Rose pairing.

"Watch what type of season Ja has next year with D rose connected to his hip all year long," Thomas said. "Once he gets off suspension he will have his best season yet. That D rose presence going to have him on some MVP shit… Watch!"

It'll be some time before NBA fans can see what a pairing between Ja Morant and Derrick Rose looks because Morant is suspended for 25 games. Hopefully, during that time, Rose can be a mentor to Morant while he's not playing and away from the team. It's easy to forget that throughout all of the accolades and NBA experience, Ja Morant is only 23 years old. Morant isn't even old enough to legally rent a car in America, the amount of room he still has to learn is so tremendously high. If there's one player that a younger point guard would listen to for advice, it's Derrick Rose.

Hopefully, Isaiah Thomas is right in his bold claim and Ja Morant can actually have that MVP season thanks to Rose.
