In his second stint with the New York Knicks, veteran point guard Derrick Rose had an interesting experience. A productive player for New York in 2021 and 2022, Rose fell out of the rotation last season, seeing hardly any playing time.

Memphis Grizzlies star Desmond Bane recently got honest about Rose's New York tenure, saying the veteran point guard was very productive two seasons ago, and his limited role last season was not indicative of who he is as player.

"Y'all acting surprised," Bane said of Rose's performance, per Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal. "... Last year in New York, you know how the business goes, but the year before that, he was a real good player and helped them win a lot of games. We expect him to do the same for us."

If Rose is able to regain the form he had early in his Knicks tenure, it will be another example if an impactful veteran who just needed a new opportunity. Players often fall out of the league after seasons like the one Rose had last year, so it's great to see him get this chance in Memphis where he will have the opportunity to impact their team both on and off the court.

Relied upon as a veteran for this Grizzlies group, Rose has the support of his new teammates.
