The Memphis Grizzlies made the tough decision to part ways with Tyus Jones earlier this offseason. While they were pleased to bring in Marcus Smart, the Grizzlies and their fans had developed a real appreciation for Jones and the role he had played for the last several seasons. Now set to begin a new chapter with the Washington Wizards, Jones shared this heartfelt message on Instagram:

"Memphis... THANK YOU. Although the Memphis chapter has closed, I'll forever be grateful for the time spent here. Memphis quickly became home for me and my family and will always be a part of us. We made lifelong memories together, and had some of the most fun playing basketball I've ever had in my life! To my brothers, keep going! This don't change nothing, we forever family. To the city and the fans, thank you for accepting me and the fam, and making me one of your own. With Love, #21."

While Jones was the backup point guard, he was somebody many on the team looked up to as a veteran leader. Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Jaren Jackson Jr. all reacted to Jones' post, showing love to their former teammate:

Jones was a well-respected member of the Grizzlies, and will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone there. While he is set to begin a new chapter in Washington, Jones will always have love back in Memphis.
