LeBron James Reacts to And-One on Dillon Brooks in Grizzlies vs. Lakers Game 4
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in overtime on Monday night, securing a massive Game 4 victory to take a 3-1 lead. LeBron James had what felt like a game-clinching drive late in the overtime period, finishing through Dillon Brooks for the and-one. When asked after the game about that play, James said he felt the opportunity for a dagger.
"We know how momentum plays are made," James said. "[I've] been a part of moments where you know you can kinda get a dagger play or a kill-shot. I feel like that play right there - after I was able to make that and-one, it kinda - I don't wanna say closed the door, but it sealed it. There wasn't much light at the end for the rest of the game, so I just let the emotion come out, and the fans were once again top notch for the second-consecutive game."
Brooks declined to speak to the media after the game, so his thoughts on that play, and Game 4 in general, are currently unknown. James recognized the opportunity to make a big momentum play, and his and-one helped seal a major Lakers victory.
Now heading to Memphis for Game 5, the Lakers will look to take care of business and head back to LA with a series victory, rather than for a Game 6.
