Luka Doncic Makes History vs. Grizzlies
With another monster performance on Monday night vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic made history. With his 35 points, Doncic overtook NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal for the 9th most points in NBA history by a player 24 years old or younger.
Now with 9,217 points before his 25th birthday, Doncic has overtaken O'Neal on that list, and could be passing some other big time names before he turns 25 in February. Roughly 300 points behind Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Doncic could realistically pass all three on this list before turning 25, which would place him 6th all-time in this category.
Age-specific rankings are always interesting to look at, because they can provide a look into where a player's career could be headed. While things can always change, Doncic doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon, and these age-specific milestones, along with the names he is surrounded by on these lists, help paint the picture of where his career could end up.
An incredible talent from the day his NBA career began, Doncic has only gotten better as his career has progressed. Already with iconic playoff moments and other career highlights, Doncic has risen to superstardom. One of the best players in the game, Doncic has the chance to be one of the best players of all time.
