The incident between Ja Morant and Joshua Holloway has been well documented. While Morant's lawyers have admitted to him punching Holloway during a pickup basketball game, they are claiming he acted in self defense. No criminal charges have been filed against Morant, but the lawsuits on both sides are still ongoing.

In a recent interview with WREG Memphis News Channel 3, Myca Clay, the mother of Holloway, spoke out about the incident.

"What's going through my mind is I cannot believe my son went to Ja Morant's house and got beat up by two grown men," Clay said.

While Clay was in disbelief by what occurred, she is also unhappy with the way it was handled. Believing Morant was protected because of who he is and what he means to the city of Memphis, Clay got honest about her feelings.

"But Ja Morant is a big superstar here in Memphis. So, you know, he brings to the city a lot of money. So I just feel that they protected him," Clay said.

As previously mentioned, no criminal charges have been filed against Morant, but there is a lawsuit against him that the star point guard has countered with one of his own. This has been a story for several months now, and it continues to get new developments. The latest is this interview with Holloway's mother.
