The NBA has released their Last Two Minute Report for Friday night’s game between the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies, and it includes a massive missed call in the final minute of the game. On Aaron Gordon’s dunk that put the Nuggets up by three points in the final 40 seconds of the game, the NBA admits he received the pass while standing out of bounds, which should have been a turnover and Memphis ball rather than two points for Denver.

This is a massive blown call in a one possession game, and it’s one that certainly could have impacted the outcome of the game. While the Last Two Minute Report adds a level of accountability for the league and its officials, admissions like these are also what make it so frustrating for players and fans, because there’s nothing that can be done about a missed call like this.

All of that being said, the Grizzlies were still not sharp enough down the stretch to win this game, and Denver was simply better when it mattered most. While that’s hard to dispute, it’s also undeniable that Memphis would have been in a much better position to win this game had that call been made correctly.

Ultimately the two points stood, and the Grizzlies moved to 0-2 on the season while the Nuggets remained unbeaten on the year.
