Without Tyus Jones on the Memphis Grizzlies anymore, Desmond Bane has some very lofty expectations placed around his shoulders. It's not just from fans and analysts either, it's also from NBA executives.

Michael Scotto from HoopsHype conducted a survey with 25 NBA executives, and they had a very bold prediction for Desmond Bane.

“Desmond Bane can definitely be an All-Star or All-NBA player this season,” an NBA executive who voted for Bane as one of his top breakout players this season told HoopsHype.

Ja Morant will be suspended for the first 25 games of the season and that scoring responsibility will become Desmond Bane's. Last season, Desmond Bane averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He's definitely shown that he can shoulder the responsibility of leading the scoring in Ja Morant's absence. There's going to be even more responsibility on Bane since Tyus Jones is no longer a part of the team.

If Bane can actually lead the Grizzlies in the absence of Ja Morant, he should definitely have consideration for both Most Improved Player and an NBA All-Star. Typically, in the case of a player lesser recognized like Desmond Bane, what matters most is winning. If the Memphis Grizzlies are a top-3 seed going into the All-Star break, there is a serious chance that Desmond Bane could be an All-Star, and the executive's prediction could come true.
