With the news dropping that the Memphis Grizzlies do not plan to re-sign Dillon Brooks under any circumstances, the NBA world has been weighing in on the situation over the last two days. On a recent episode of his podcast, Chicago Bulls guard Patrick Beverley shared his thoughts on what Brooks had to say about LeBron James, and the reaction to those comments.

"Regardless if someone said, 'LeBron you're the greatest player' or if someone said, 'I poke bears,' he was still going to be LeBron James," Beverley said. "See, I've never understood that. Because I've always been the villain. So I've never understood [people saying], 'Don't say nothing, you're gonna wake him up.' This motherf--ker is woke [up]. I don't know if ya'll are here or not, but this is LeBron James. He's woke [up]."

On the Grizzlies getting eliminated, Beverley said, "We knew that, though. They didn't respect the game. They didn't respect the game. When you don't respect the game, it will catch up with you."

It was an interesting take from Beverley, who believes LeBron James would have been the same player regardless of what Brooks said about him in the media. Having been in similar situations, even with LeBron James himself, Beverley knows what that is like. The veteran guard added that sometimes comments like that can be an attempt by a player to wake themselves up, knowing that LeBron is going to be the same player regardless.
