There's no other player tempting the Basketball Gods the way Dillon Brooks has this season. From calling LeBron James old, to saying he doesn't respect him, to saying he wants the Lakers in the playoffs, Brooks has been asking for it.

While some may call Brooks' brashness bravado, others may say it's foolish. Brooks was trying to set LeBron James up to have added pressure, but in the end it only gave himself added pressure. The end result was LeBron James scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds, while also hitting a dagger layup against Brooks in overtime during Game 4.

Due to the nature of how Game 4 ended for both Dillon Brooks and LeBron James, Brooks became the punchline of the entire NBA. As soon as Inside the NBA started, Shaq had some words for Brooks.

"LeBron had 20 and 20," Shaq said. "Dillon Brooks said you don't respect somebody until they get 40. LeBron got 20 and 20 tonight, that's 40.”

What made matters worse is that both Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant denied to speak with the media after Game 4. Because of that, their teammates like Xavier Tillman were forced to speak on the podium - it's just not a good look from a leadership perspective.

The Memphis Grizzlies now officially have their backs against the wall. The good news is that they're going back to Memphis, the bad news is that it's do-or-die now.
