Updated Injury Report: Kyrie Irving's Final Status for Grizzlies vs. Mavericks
After being initially listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving has now been ruled out. This is now consecutive games against Memphis that Irving has missed, which will once again force Dallas to play without their two best players, as Luka Doncic remains out as well.
Despite being down Irving and Doncic on Saturday against Memphis, the Mavericks gave the Grizzlies a real battle. Memphis was of course without Ja Morant themselves, but Dallas showed a real level of toughness until the fourth quarter when things began to slip away.
Every game is vital for the Mavericks at this point in the season, as they currently sit one-game behind the Golden State Warriors for the 6th seed, and in a tie with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 7th seed.
Once again facing the Grizzlies without Morant, Dallas has to feel decent about their chances, even without Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. The Grizzlies have been terrible on the road all season, and will be facing the Mavericks in Dallas tonight after getting them at home on Saturday.
This game is also very important for the Grizzlies, as they are trying to outrace the Sacramento Kings for the 2nd seed. The difference between 2nd and 3rd projects to be significant for several reasons, which is why Memphis must hold onto the position they worked so hard to obtain.
