WATCH: Dillon Brooks Links With Toronto Raptors Player for Pickup Game
Summer time is always a great opportunity for NBA players to connect with each other for pickup runs and private workouts. These pickup runs are often summer's version of game action, especially when multiple NBA players are on the court at the same time. Linking up with Toronto Raptors forward Chris Boucher, former Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks dominated a recent run in Toronto:
From Canada, Brooks played for the Canadian national team in their impressive FIBA World Cup run this summer. Training in Canada with the Raptors forward, Brooks has seemingly spent a lot of time close to home this offseason. Signing a big deal with the Houston Rockets as part of a sign and trade that ended his time in Memphis, Brooks should have an opportunity to expand his game next season.
While it was time for Brooks and the Grizzlies to go their separate ways, there will always be mutual respect and appreciation between the two sides for what they began building during their time together. While Brooks and the Grizzlies didn't have the playoff success they were hoping for, they built a solid foundation together that should benefit both sides going forward.
The Grizzlies have yet to name an official staring lineup replacement for Brooks, and could use training camp to make that decision if a trade doesn't address it before then.
