WATCH: Ja Morant's Wholesome Moment With Daughter After Grizzlies Beat Lakers
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 on Wednesday night, and they did it without star point guard Ja Morant. Morant was a game time decision, and was ultimately ruled out around an hour before tip-off with his right hand injury.
Having prior experience and success playing without Morant, the Grizzlies were able to secure a much needed victory, and will head to Los Angeles with the series tied. After the game, Morant joined the on-court interview with his daughter, and once again had her recite, "It's a parade inside my city, yeah!"
The NBA YoungBoy lyrics have become somewhat of an anthem for this Memphis team, and Morant has everybody from his teammates to his daughter reciting them after big wins. It was an incredibly wholesome moment, and something Grizzlies fans were able to enjoy after a day that was filled with a lot of stress.
Had the Grizzlies dropped the first two games of this series, it would have been nearly impossible to recover, as they would have headed into a hostile Los Angeles environment down 0-2. Still needing a win in LA to recover home court advantage, the Grizzlies have a lot of work ahead of them, but this win is a great start.
Similar to how things were before Game 2, the attention will now shift to the status of Ja Morant for Game 3.
