Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has now served the first of his 25-game suspension from the NBA, and will miss 24 more contests before being allowed to return. This first absence came against the New Orleans Pelicans and his good friend Zion Williamson, who predicted the star point guard will be "better than ever" after his return.

"It's unfortunate," Williamson said on Morant's absence, per Jonah Dillon of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "I always like competing against Ja. That's my brother. We go back since the (South Carolina) days. Knowing Ja, he's going to come back to the court better than ever."

While many have written Morant off, Williamson is not one of them. Knowing what it's like to be out for an extended stretch and then make a return, Williamson has gone through this with injuries, it's just a different reason for Morant's absence right now. Always pulling for his longtime friend, Williamson is looking forward to seeing Morant back on the court, which cannot come soon enough for the Grizzlies and their fanbase.

It will be a very tough first 25 games for Memphis, as this opener vs. New Orleans previewed, but the team will have one of the best players in the game rejoining their starting lineup once his 25-game suspension has been served. For now, Memphis must find production somewhere else.
