A former Atlanta Hawk signed a two-way deal with the Boston Celtics today.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, former Hawk and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Nathan Knight is going to be signing a two-way deal with the Boston Celtics. Knight played in Atlanta during the 2020-2021 season after playing his college ball at William and Mary. Knight did have a couple of impactful moments in the regular season for the Hawks that season. In just his second NBA game, Knight played nine minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies and shot 4-5 from the field, including two three-pointers.

Later that season, Knight played upwards of 20 minutes in two games against the Rockets and the Cavs and scored 16 and 15 points in those games. Knight did not have a role for the Hawks in the playoffs that season when Atlanta made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The following two seasons, Knight played in 37 and 38 games for Minnesota, averaging seven minutes per game. For his career, Knight has averaged 3.7 PPG and 2.0 RPG. He was in training camp with the New York Knicks this year.

Knight is going to be one of three two-way players that the Celtics have.

Atlanta wrapped up their preseason Friday in Philadelphia and begins their regular season on Wednesday at Charlotte.
