A Portion Of Miami Heat Twitter Negatively Reacted To Gay Pride Night Theme Tonight Against New York Knicks

Some Miami Heat fans expressed their discontent with the theme of the night.

The Miami Heat play the New York Knicks tonight in pursuit of the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Many fans are watching in hopes of getting a win but some on social media voiced why they plan on changing the channel. The Heat’s Twitter announced tonight’s game was in support of the LGBTQ community, much to the dismay of some users.

“Yeah we’re having a mediocre season so let’s focus on gay people instead of trying to win,” one fan said.

Some commented with photos of Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards, who was accused of using homophobic language in an Instagram video.

Even through all the comments of disapproval, some fans voiced their support of this event.

“Here come the people crying about how you’re forcing them to be gay or something like that,” one user commented. “Never seen people so offended by a rainbow before.”

Whether or not the fans support the Pride Night theme, most are yearning for a victory against the Knicks. The Heat got a big win against the Detroit Pistons but most fans were not content defeating the worst team in the league. A win against New York will not only propel the Heat in the conference standings but it will also give them a victory against a formidable opponent. Miami nearly won the last matchup but a last-second 3-pointer by Julius Randle sealed the deal.

Randle will not be any easier this time around. He is coming off a career-high 57-point performance against the Timberwolves.
