Carlos Alcaraz Accomplishes What Good Friend Jimmy Butler Couldn't: Beat A Serbian In Finals

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon a month after Jimmy Butler lost to Nikola Jokic in NBA Finals

Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler may have even more reason to cheer on good friend Carlos Alcaraz.

Alcaraz, the No. 1 ranked tennis player in the world, defeated Novak Djokovic in five sets Sunday in the Wimbledon final. It was his first time winning the event in his young career. He is only 20.

Alcaraz achieved something his buddy was unsuccessful at last month. He defeated an elite Serbian athlete in the championship while Butler failed when the Heat lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.

Alcaraz and Butler sparked a friendship during the past few months. Butler made the trip to London to cheer on his favorite player. In March, Alcaraz attended a Heat game to support Butler. That was a month after Butler traveled to watch Alcaraz play in the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. At the time, Butler was on NBA All-Star break.
