Cole Swider Impressed In Red, White, And Pink Scrimmage Following Praise From Bam Adebayo

Miami Heat forward Cole Swider impressed during their red, white, and pink scrimmage as he competes for a roster spot

Forward Cole Swider is one of the Miami Heat’s five players on an Exhibit 10 contract, fighting for a spot on the regular-season roster.

On Monday, the Heat played the annual Red, White, and Pink Game, where all proceeds benefited cancer care and research at the Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.

Late last week, Heat’s All-Star center Bam Adebayo mentioned Swider when asked which young player has flashed the most in camp.

In the scrimmage, Swider backed up Adebayo’s praise by scoring 27 points on 50 percent shooting from three-point range. Keep in mind that for most of Miami’s roster, this scrimmage was viewed as a fundraiser. For Swider, it could make a difference of millions of dollars down the road.

“I don’t have a contract right now, and I’m working to get one,” Swider said after the scrimmage. “So my attitude is a little bit different going into this game than maybe some of the guys already with a contract. I tried to go out there and just play my game, shoot the shots I would shoot in a game, and just get ready for tomorrow.”

If Swider continues to impress during preseason, we can expect to see him on the Heat’s roster when the season begins. He could fill the role of sharpshooter Max Strus, who departed in free agency this offseason.

Miami is preparing for their preseason opener against the Charlotte Hornets later today.
