Denver Nuggets' Jamal Murray Inspired By Jimmy Butler In Big Close-Out Effort Against Minnesota Timberwolves

Jamal Murray said Jimmy Butler's Game 4 against Milwaukee fired him up for 35-point performance versus Timberwolves

Like most NBA players and fans, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray was impressed by Jimmy Butler earlier this week.

Butler scored 56 points in the Miami Heat's win against the Milwaukee Bucks Monday in Game 4 of their series. On Tuesday, Murray had his chance to impress.

He scored 35 points on 12 of 23 shooting, leading the Nuggets past the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5. Denver advanced to the Western Conference semifinals to face the Phoenix Suns

"You know when you watch something, you get like goosebumps or your heart skips a beat or something," Murray said. "Jimmy was incredible. You could see his emotion when he hit that shot. He was feeling that kind of energy. He just felt absolutely unstoppable, which he was [Monday] night."

Murray said the performance was the perfect form of inspiration.

"I had a couple moments like that," Murray said. "I felt pretty good."
