Miami Heat forward Duncan Robinson made sure to get it out of the way quickly as possible.

In the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons, Robinson hit a 3-pointer. It marked the 1,000th of his career, making him the fastest player in NBA history to accomplish the feat. He needed just 343 games.

Robinson missed three opportunities to set the mark in Friday's win against the Pistons. It is yet another in the long list of accomplishments for Robinson, who went from undrafted rookie free agent to one of the top shooters in the league.

Robinson already holds the Heat's career record for 3-pointers and is the single-season leader. It was even more special that Robinson set the mark in the state of Michigan, where he played collegiately. He starred for the Michigan Wolverines before taking a roundabout path to the NBA.

He initially signed with the Heat on a two-way contract, spending much time in the G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. It didn't take long for him to become a rotation player. Robinson has played a key role in the Heat making two NBA Finals and three trips to the Eastern Conference finals since his arrival in 2018.
