At one time, Omer Yurtseven was considered the Miami Heat's next great developmental project.

The feeling was short-lived because Yurtseven signed with the Utah Jazz Monday evening. The Jazz announced the news via Twitter.

Yurtseven, who went undrafted out of Georgetown, was considered a rookie sensation during the 2021-22 season. He was thought of as the next breakout developmental player after cracking the rotation. Then he suddenly became an afterthought during the playoffs.

After breaking his foot, he missed the start of last season. He never found his way back into the rotation. He only averaged 9.2 minutes in nine appearances. The Heat appear more content with developing Orlando Robinson, who is coming off a strong performance in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Robinson was named first-team All-Summer League after leading the Heat in scoring.
