Gabe Vincent Drawing Kendrick Nunn Comparisons Following Potential Surgery Announcement

Former Miami Heat guard Gabe Vincent is drawing resemblances to another Heat guard who joined the Los Angeles Lakers years prior

Two former Miami Heat guards are displaying similarities after joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

Gabe Vincent and Kendrick Nunn thrived in Miami's system, but after joining the Lakers, they struggled to perform. The Athletic's Shams Charania recently broke the news that Vincent is "strongly considering" surgery, which resulted in the comparisons catching fire.

"Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is strongly considering surgery on his left knee with a timetable of 6-to-8 weeks, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium," Charania posted. "Vincent rehabbed for almost two months for return, but the swelling is back and procedure is now a real likelihood."

Nunn signed with Los Angeles in August of 2021, resulting in a major fall from grace. He averaged 6.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 39 games before a trade that sent him to the Washington Wizards. Meanwhile, Vincent signed a three-year, $33 million deal after his major contributions to the Heat's NBA Finals run last season.

The comparisons began almost immediately after Vincent's first games in LA. His debut performance resulted in a six-point outing in 22 minutes of action.

Vincent returned to action on Wednesday, where he recorded three points and three rebounds. He missed roughly two months with the same injury.

For Heat and Lakers fans, it's sad to see these electric backcourt players struggle after leaving Miami.
