Gregg Popovich Says Terry Rozier Gives Miami Heat "Another Tool In The Box"
San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is among those who think the Miami Heat made the right move by trading for Terry Rozier last month.
Popovich said Rozier no doubt makes the Heat a better team, calling him another offensive talent for coach Erik Spoelstra.
"He's a seasoned pro," Popovich said. "He's a known scorer. He can score in a lot of different ways. He plays with passion. He can really heat up and just adds to the potential and adds another tool in the box that Spo can use. That experience and skill is going to help them."
Rozier has played just eight games with the Heat since being traded from the Charlotte Hornets. He has scored in double-figures the past three games.
So far, he's looked like an upgrade from Kyle Lowry, whom he was traded for. Few have questioned the move.
"Just being able to add pace, shooting, great scoring ability and he's a good defender," Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said of the Rozier addition. "He'll play hard and gonna compete. A lot of things that Kyle bought, similar, just a lot younger than Kyle. He's able to do it on a nightly basis. Kyle is 37 years old, he can do it sometimes. Rozier is good pickup. He's a good player. He adds that pop to the offense."
