How Miami Heat Twitter Reacted To Sunday's Win Against Milwaukee Bucks
Everyone said Jimmy Butler needed a big game if the Miami Heat had a chance against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Guess what happened? He had the postseason performance the Heat needed. “Playoff Butler” was in full effect to the tune of 35 points, 11 assists and five rebounds.
Butler didn’t work alone. Solid contributions from Kevin Love, Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin gave the team scoring outside of their Big Three.
Tyler Herro had 12 first half points but suffered a hand injury after a questionable effort to take the ball from Bucks guard Grayson Allen. His presence in the game was felt, even for his head-scratching decision.
“Tyler Herro is still the best white American hooper in the league,” user ChefTrillie said. “I’m not letting Austin Reaves take that title away from us. This is all we got.”
Many fans were ready to go scorched earth on Bam Adebayo, who ended the first half with just five points. He ended the game with 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, silencing the narrative of him not showing up for the postseason.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was out of the game after the first quarter, leading some to downgrade Miami’s victory. However, most fans could appreciate the Heat not losing to a team without their star player, which they did continuously throughout the regular season.
The Heat had their best game from 3-point range, shooting 60 percent from that distance. Milwaukee was lackluster on the other end, going 11 of 45 from downtown.
The Heat are back in Milwaukee for Game 2 Wednesday night.
