Jimmy Butler Delivers On Buzzer-Beater Promise Against Chicago Bulls

The Miami Heat star's prediction came true on Saturday evening in their win over DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls

Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler plays with confidence, regardless of the outcome.

In Saturday's victory against the Chicago Bulls, he nailed a step-back mid-range shot to win the game 118-116. He finished the night with 28 points on 9 of 18 shooting.

Miami suffered a devastating loss to the New York Knicks in late November. Butler missed the game-winning three-pointer. Following the defeat, the star shared a prediction that came true on Saturday.

"We're gonna live with the result," Butler said. "But I guarantee I'm making the next one."

If Butler's shot was once again off the mark, Miami would have fallen to 14-12 on the season. His game-winner allowed the Heat to split the series with Chicago.

"It means a lot. It's a pleasure to be able to play in this arena in front of these incredible fans, to be able to hoop with the guys that we have on this roster," Butler said postgame. "Anybody can make that shot, and all in all, it's just really dope to win because wins are super hard to come by in this league, and as we get guys back, I'm hoping that it doesn't come down to that in the end."

Miami should see the return of stars Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo by the end of the month. This will relieve offensive pressure from Butler's shoulders.
