The Miami Heat opened their first-round series against the New York Knicks with a 108-101 victory in Game 1.

Heat forward Jimmy Butler led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Gabe Vincent added 20 points and five assists.

The Heat lead the best-of-7 series 1-0. The Knicks played without All-Star Julius Randle, who was ruled out because of an ankle injury. The Heat are coming off defeating the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 26 points while Jalen Brunson added 25. This is the first time Heat have played the Knicks in the postseason since 2013 when LeBron James and Dwyane Wade led Miami past the New York-led Carmelo Anthony team.
