Lakers Guard Austin Reaves Mentioned With LeBron James And Compared To Tyler Herro In Span Of A Day

ESPN's Jay Williams asks how the Lakers should work LeBron James back into lineup with Austin Reaves playing well and FanDuel compares the sensation to Tyler Herro
In this story:

One gambling website decided to pose the question comparing a pair of NBA players.

The website, FanDuel, asked who was the better player: Los Angeles Lakers sensation Austin Reaves or Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro?

For Lakers fans, it's probably flattering. For Heat fans, it's probably disrespectful.

While Reaves averaged 30 points in the last two games, the comparison is a bit premature. Herro is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year and a budding All-Star.

The poll was likely started as a conversation-starter.

If that wasn't enough, ESPN analyst Jay Williams caught a lot of flack for suggesting the Lakers to find a way to work LeBron James back into the offense when he returns from injury so he fits in with Reaves.

Yes, this was actually said.

“When you bring back LeBron, in this short period, how in the hell is Austin Reaves going to continue to play at this level," Williams said. "The ball is in Austin Reaves’ hands a ton. You guys know the lather, the kind of rhythm you get when the ball is in your hands. The amount of possessions, the volume of possessions. You feel way more comfortable with the rock now.”

After two games, it seems Reaves is getting the Jeremy Lin treatment. But at least Lin performed at a high level for an entire season.
