LeBron James Can Add More Steam To Michael Jordan-G.O.A.T Debate With Another Championship

LeBron James begins his attempt at a fifth NBA title today against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies
In this story:

It is arguably the most popular debate in all of today's sports.

Who is better: LeBron James or Michael Jordan?

Jordan fans say he has more rings. LeBron fans say he has more longevity.

This is often what separates the two, but today James begins his quest to make the G.O.A.T debate even more interesting. The Los Angeles Lakers open the first round of the Western Conference playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies

For James, it marks the beginning of his chase for a fifth NBA title in 20 seasons. He would gain another inch on Jordan's legacy, moving within one of his impressive six championships in six appearances.

James would strengthen his case by closing this gap, especially after becoming the league's all-time leading scorer earlier this season. With his statistical resume, James fans could say it makes up for Jordan having one more title.

And James, who won two championships with the Miami Heat, has shown no signs of slowing down. He could even go after another title the following season.

First things first, the Lakers have to get by a tough Grizzlies team before thinking about that.
