Former Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea's claim to fame is playing a role in stopping LeBron James in the NBA Finals.

Now, he wants to bring his tough playing style to the sideline. Barea recently said he has interest in becoming a coach, mainly with the Mavs.

“Everybody that knows me know that my first option will always be with the Mavs,” Barea told Mavs.com last month. “I would love to be with the Mavs."

A Miami native, Barea stuck it to his hometown when he helped the Mavs defeat the Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals. He gained by popularity by defending James often during the series.

James had the worst Finals in his 10 appearances, averaging 17. points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 6 games. It is often considered the biggest stain of his career because he was slowed by the much smaller Barea.
