LeBron James Shows His Support For LSU Basketball Player Angel Reese
Count NBA superstar LeBron James among those who support LSU women's basketball player Angel Reese.
Reese was mired in controversy after taunting Iowa's Caitlin Clark in the NCAA title game Sunday afternoon. Reese drew criticism from those who thought her behavior was "classless."
When a tweet surfaced of Reese dealing with all the "hater," James made sure to respond. He said, "FACTS!!! Love to see it."
The Reese-Clark situation has sparked racial tension. Reese, who is black, trash-talked Clark, a white player who became the face of women's basketball during the season. Both players have moved on from the incident but the public has poured gasoline on the fire.
Reese has offered no apologies for being herself.
All year, I was critiqued for who I was. I don’t fit the narrative,” Reese said. “I don’t fit the box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it, and y’all don’t say nothing.
“So this is for the girls that look like me. For those that want to speak up for what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you. And that’s what I did it for tonight. It was bigger than me tonight. And Twitter is going to go into a rage every time. And I’m happy. I feel like I’ve helped grow women’s basketball this year. (…) I’m looking forward to celebrating and then next season.”
