Miami Heat Expect A Smooth Transition With Kevin Love And Cody Zeller

Love and Zeller make their debut tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra doesn't expect it to take too long for newly-acquired players Kevin Love and Cody Zeller to adjust to a new system.

The players make their debut for the Heat tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks

"I think [Love] fit in on any kind of system," Spoelstra said. "He'll make it work. He'll figure it out. The same thing with Cody. They've been coached well. They just have a great feel for the game and know how to impact and use their experiences."

Love and Zeller give the Heat needed help at the power forward position. Both can also play center, meaning Bam Adebayo can now play some at the four.

"Both of these guys give us qualities at positions of need," Spoelstra said. "... Obviously, we'll have to work through some things in real games. I felt a boost [at Thursday's practice] in the gym. Guys have great respect for both of them, battling against them over the years. Now, we have some real depth all over the place."

YURTSEVEN MAKING PROGRESS

Spoelstra said center Omer Yurtseven is moving closer to a return.

Yurtseven has yet to play this season after undergoing ankle surgery during training camp. He will likely have a stint with the Heat's G League affiliate in Sioux Falls before suiting up.

"He's getting close," Spoelstra said. "He did all the non-contact (Thursday). Right now, he's doing some two-on-two. We'll get him ready in the next week or so and then we'll take that next step, which will be live, competitive five-on-five. He'll probably have to do that in Sioux Falls."

LOWRY STILL OUT

Guard Kyle Lowry will miss his seventh straight game because of a knee injury.

Spoelstra said there is no timetable on his return.

"He's making progress," Spoelstra said. "I do not have a specific time now. He had a good week and we'll keep on progressing."

The Heat expect to have Lowry at some point this season but Gabe Vincent has played well as the replacement starter.

"He working making sure that he's healthy," Spoelstra said of Lowry. "That's the most important thing as we move forward. He's been able to grind through a lot of different pain and discomfort because he's tough. He's a competitor ... We want to get him feeling right."
