Miami Heat Fall To The Joel Embiid-Less Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday Night

Jimmy Butler left game with 10 minutes remaining because of knee soreness

Two days ago, the Miami Heat were able to handle the Philadelphia 76ers with their star center Joel Embiid in the lineup.

Two days later, the Heat failed to accomplish the same with Embiid sidelined because of a foot injury. The performance in the 119-96 loss once again left the Heat searching for answers.

“We’ve shown we can be our very best against anyone anywhere," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "And then we’ve shown we can be this.”

This was arguably one of the worst losses of the season. The Heat were being beaten so badly forward Jimmy Butler left the bench with 10 minutes in the game to receive knee treatment. The Heat shot just 44 percent from the field, including the starting backcourt of Tyler Herro and Gabe Vincent combining to make 6 of 26 from the field.

Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 20 points while Butler finished with 16.

“There has to be a mindset shift to be able to win, game in, game out," Spoelstra said. “All the answers that we want are in that locker room.”
