Miami Heat Taking NBA Finals Rematch More Seriously Than Denver Nuggets?
It has been more than seven months since the Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship against the Miami Heat.
The long wait for the rematch is finally over for the Heat to exact some revenge but it seems to have less meaning for the Nuggets. While the Heat are perhaps looking for payback, the defending champs view it as just another game on the schedule that could move them closer to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
"I don't feel like it's going to be another Finals game," Nuggets guard Martavious Caldwell-Pope said "Who knows? We'll see how they come in and they start. For us, we're trying to win no matter what, who's stepping into this building. No matter who we're playing against, we're trying to get that No. 1 seed."
The Nuggets are so nonchalant there is even a chance star guard Jamal Murray skips the game because it's the second night of a back-to-back. Last week he did not play against the Portland Trail Blazer of bilateral tibia inflammation.
He is a game-time decision.
"Really, no, just trying to play the game and get dub," Murray when asked if the game has any more meaning than others. "I know they're going to come out strong and aggressive. We gotta just be ready to not only the energy but exceed it and use our homecourt to our advantage again.'
