Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks: Five Major Takeaways

The Miami Heat found success in certain areas in a narrow defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night
In this story:

The Miami Heat fall to 1-3 on the season following a blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday evening.

Here are five major takeaways:

1. Tyler Herro is the key to the Heat’s success

Herro was the sole reason Miami was able to remain competitive against the Bucks. He finished the night with 35 points and eight rebounds on 57.1 percent shooting in the eight-point loss. Besides Herro, the Heat struggled to score. Duncan Robinson was the team’s second-leading scorer with 15.

2. Jimmy Butler is not worried about the regular season

Butler has shined in the postseason every year with the Heat. He has led them to two NBA Finals appearances in the last four seasons but does not seem concerned with the lack of success early on. Butler played 28 minutes against the Bucks, recording 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

3. Bam Adebayo is crucial to compete with contending teams

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the star of the show for Milwaukee, ending the game with 33 points and seven rebounds. Miami’s All-Star center, Adebayo, was sidelined because of a hip injury. He is not known for sitting out games in the regular season, which allowed Antetokounmpo to perform. If Miami wishes to compete against championship contenders, Adebayo will need to lock down their best players.

4. Kyle Lowry needs to find ways to contribute

The veteran guard has struggled for the Heat this season. Lowry has only found double-digit scoring once this year, along with recording 0 points in their opener. Lowry needs to find methods of contribution such as leading and playmaking.

5. Josh Richardson needs to knock off the rust

Richardson made his regular-season debut tonight, where he played a sloppy game. He concluded the night with six points, three rebounds, and three personal fouls. Richardson’s strengths fall on the defensive end, but he lacked success there tonight.
