The Miami Heat’s play of the night came midway through the second quarter with a lob from Jaime Jaquez Jr. to Jimmy Butler

Rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. and star Jimmy Butler are two of the Miami Heat’s most electric players.

But their star power wasn't enough to take down the New York Knicks.

In tonight’s embarrassing loss, Jaquez and Butler combined on a ‘highlight reel’ play. In the second quarter, Jaquez was bringing up the ball before throwing a lob pass from half court. Butler caught the pass in mid-air, finishing through contact for a three-point play.

This play handed Miami a two-point lead. Despite leading by as much as 21 points in the second half, Miami was outscored 29-11 in the final quarter. This resulted in a 100-98 loss.

In Jaquez’s impressive performance, he showcased multiple impressive plays. These included a spin move in the paint, resulting in an easy layup. He recorded 15 points and five rebounds on poor efficiency.

Butler also had a solid outing, finishing the night with 23 points and three assists on 50 percent shooting and 3 of 5 shooting from beyond the arc. However, he was unable to knock down the game-winning three-pointer with less than one second in the game.

Miami is hoping to bounce back against Mikal Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets on the second night of their back-to-back.
