Miami Heat's Erik Spoelstra Believes Jimmy Butler Is An "All-NBA Guy" This Season

Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke about the improvement of Jimmy Butler since he joined the Miami Heat in 2019
In this story:

The Miami Heat won't have many individual postseason awards but coach Erik Spoelstra feels at least one player is deserving.

Before Sunday's game against the Orlando Magic, Spoelstra said forward Jimmy Butler should definitely make one of the All-NBA teams.

"Last year, I thought was the next step of improvement and driving us all the way to the seventh game of the Eastern Conference finals ... He continues to grow as a basketball player ... He's definitely an All-NBA guy this season."

Butler is averaging 22.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists. While there are players with better numbers, Butler is vital to the Heat's success. The Heat are the No. 7 seed entering the postseason, mostly because of Butler.

"I feel like each year he's gotten better," Spoelstra said. "I don't know if the statistics back that up."
