Miami Heat's Kevin Love Admits He Expected Too Much Too Soon

Kevin Love says he was "pressing" when he first signed with the Miami Heat
In this story:

Miami Heat forward Kevin Love sounded so much more relaxed in the postgame interview after Saturday's win against the Dallas Mavericks

His tone screamed comfort instead of uneasiness. Since being acquired in February, Love had tried to fit in. Perhaps too hard.

And he pinned that on his early struggles in Miami. Love finally brought out of his slump with 18 points, his most in a Heat uniform.

"I've been searching since I've been here trying to find my shots and getting into some sort of rhythm," Love said. "Sometimes, I find myself not being myself. This felt the most like me."

Love is averaging 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds with the Heat but Saturday's performance is what was expected when he signed. The hope is playing him off the bench the remainder of the season increases his comfort level.

"I've been pressing," Love said. "I've shot the ball extremely well in our practices that we've had. You want to make such a big impact right always and be about all the right things."
