Miami Heat's Nikola Jovic Trolls Dillon Brooks After Serbia Defeats Canada
Serbia punched their ticket to the FIBA World Cup Finals Friday morning after their victory against Canada.
One of the storylines gaining the most traction is Serbian Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic mocking Canadian wing and NBA villain Dillon Brooks.
Brooks' latest antics came in the previous round when he mocked Slovenia after getting ejected. He greeted his teammates with boxing gloves after the victory.
Jovic used this to troll Brooks after advancing to the title game. Some even suggested he adopted this trash talk from his Heat teammate Jimmy Butler.
Brooks performed admirably with 16 points on 42 percent shooting. Still, that didn't stop social media from criticizing him, given the villainous reputation he's created the past season.
Serbia's stifling defense held Canadian superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to 15 points, including zero in the first quarter. Serbian guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, who finished with a team-high 23 points, praised Aleksa Avramovic for his defensive effort.
"We had one guy, Aleksa Avramovic was watching [SGA]'s tape for the last two days," Bogdanovic said in the postgame interview. "Highlights every game. He said, 'Trust me, I'm gonna steal one ball,' and I think he stole two. So props to him and all the guys, unbelievable win."
Serbia will face Germany in the Finals Sunday night.
