Miami Heat’s Potential Big Three Debut Could Echo LeBron, Wade, Bosh In 2010

The 2010 Miami Heat had one of the most anticipated debuts in NBA history

The Miami Heat are aiming to assemble the Big Three of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Damian Lillard. The 2010 Heat’s Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh had one of the most anticipated debuts in NBA history. However, it did not live up to the excitement.

On October 26, the Big Three were set to take the court together for the first time. James led the team in scoring with 31 points but had eight turnovers.

Wade and Bosh had extremely disappointing debuts after coming off All-Star seasons. Wade scored only 13 points on 25 percent shooting with six turnovers. While Bosh had eight points on 27.3 percent shooting from the field. The Celtics won 88-80, largely due to the trio’s disappointing night.

Lillard, Butler, and Adebayo may be destined for a similar fate. Although Adebayo and Butler have played together for four seasons, Lillard has yet to be traded. He would be coming from the Portland Trailblazers, where he has been the number-one option for 11 seasons.

Despite this lack of connection, Adebayo and Lillard do have some chemistry from playing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics together.

A lack of time spent together, along with struggles to distribute the ball, could result in a disappointing debut game for the Heat’s potential Big Three.
