Miami Heat's Victor Oladipo To Team After Injury: "Don't Shed Any Tears For Me, I'm Going To Get Through All Of This"
Before tip-off of Game 4, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra offered an update on injured guard Victor Oladipo.
He said Oladipo is remaining positive despite another setback. He is expected to have season-ending surgery later this week.
"It's sobering, for sure," Spoelstra said. "And, yeah, he had the outlook that you would expect. He said, `Don't shed any tears for me. I'm going to get through all of this. That human side that we keep on talking about. When you see how much he's been able to go through and overcome, you just naturally are rooting for him."
While their thoughts are with Oladipo, the Heat have to stay focused. A win tonight would put them in control of the series against the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.
"He has all of us convinced he'll get through this," Spoelstra said. "He will find a way. He has that kind of fortitude. In the meantime, these are the playoffs. It does require compartmentalization. There's a lot of teams that are having to go through a lot of different emotions of things like that. We have to focus on the task at hand tonight and that's what we've been talking about."
