Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Out Rest Of Game Against Miami Heat With Lower Back Contusion

The Milwaukee Bucks are without star Giannis Antetokounmpo the remainder of the game because of lower back contusion

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out the remainder of Sunday's game against the Miami Heat.

Antetokounmpo appeared to sustain a lower back injury after falling hard on a play in the first quarter. He played a few more minutes before leaving the court. He briefly returned but left again to the locker room.

The two-time MVP left with six points and three rebounds. He missed two of the four regular season games against the Heat, but was a focal point in the preparation for the Heat int the playoffs

"You're talking about MVP in GA, all the shooting, how together they are,” Heat forward Jimmy Butler said. “They've been together for a while. It's going to be tough. Milwaukee has some great fans that are always showing up and showing out. We've got to play damn near basketball, which we are capable of ... We are one and I think we're going to be OK."

This is the third time the teams have met in the postseason, with each team splitting victories in 2020 and 2021. The Bucks are heavily favored after winning a league-best 58 games.
