NBA Analyst Tim Legler: Miami Heat Will Be Trouble For Top Seeds In Playoffs
Elite NBA teams know the Miami Heat should not be underestimated no matter where they sit in the standings (currently 7th).
Exhibit A: Last season’s run to the Finals as an eighth seed.
ESPN NBA analyst Tim Legler says the Heat again are a team to watch in the final eight weeks of the season.
“We’re gonna hear from them. They’re gonna win six straight at some point in the second half here,” Legler said on the “All-NBA Podcast.” “Everybody’s gonna pick their ears up and say, ‘Oh, here come the Heat with another improbable run.’”
Legler has been one of the loudest Heat advocates over the past few years, praising their superior coaching and toughness in the playoffs.
The Heat’s Erik Spoelstra “is the best coach in the NBA,” Legler said. “With everything they got, all those vets and that coach — that would be a hell of a series if you ended up with the Miami Heat in the first round and you're one of the top seeds."
Last season’s top seeds in the Eastern Conference were the Milwaukee Bucks (first) and Boston Celtics (second). The Heat took down both, beating the Bucks in five games and the Celtics in seven.
