The Perfect Scenario For Miami Heat And Portland Trail Blazers Guard Damian Lillard
With the trade rumors involving the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard continuing to cook, some fans started creating scenarios.
If the Heat are able to acquire the seven-time All-Star, they likely have to give up guard Tyler Herro. But in a perfect world, some would rather see the Heat feature the pairing of both guards.
What if they can? The Eastern Conference could finally have the best backcourt in recent history.
This tandem would be nearly impossible to stop. Everyone knows how lethal of a shooter Lillard is, hence the nickname “Logo Lillard”. Last year he had arguably his best season, averaging a career-high 32 points. Considering he was 32 at the time, most pundits expected him to start declining but were proven wrong.
Imagine Lillard’s offensive skill set combined with Herro and his supreme shooting. Herro has made a career out of the ability to shoot from almost anywhere past half court. The only issue is his inconsistency. Last season, he shot 37 percent from the 3-point line but was streaky at times. If he can work on this, Herro and Lillard could be a lethal backcourt.
But of course, they have competition in the East. The main competitor is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ duo of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell. Last season, they led the Cavaliers with a combined average of 49 points. Not to mention, if James Harden elects to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers, they could have a decent pair in him and Tyrese Maxey.
However, all of these are just scenarios while we wait for an outcome.
