Tyler Herro, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant Among The Game 1 Injury Casualties

Tyler Herro, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant all sustained injuries in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs

The NBA lost three of its top players in a span of a few hours on Sunday.

All-Stars Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) and Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies) and 2022 Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro (Miami Heat) were all injured during Game 1 of the playoffs.

Herro is out for Game 2 against the Bucks with a broken right hand while Antetokounmpo (back) and Morant (hand) are both questionable.

"He's not going to play the next game, and then we'll just figure it out," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of Herro. "I got the same diagnosis that you all heard."

Herro sustained the injury while diving for a loose ball late in the first half. According to Bleacher Report, he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Antetokounmpo injured his back after a hard fall in the first quarter against the Heat. After going to the locker room, he returned for a few minutes but was ruled out shortly after.

"We’ll monitor him and see how he wakes up [Monday]," Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said.

Morant was injured after falling while attempting a dunk in the fourth quarter of the Grizzlies loss to the Los Angeles Lakers

"[It is] tough, man, especially with everything I've been through pretty much this season," Morant said. "My main focus was to be out there for my guys. It's another incident where that's pretty much in jeopardy."
