Tyler Herro Shares View On Upcoming Season Following Offseason Of Trade Rumors
Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro dealt with an postseason injury followed by an offseason filled with trade rumors, but is remaining focused on the task at hand.
Following his 30-point performance in a preseason victory against the Memphis Grizzlies, Herro spoke about whether this season feels different than others.
“Like you said, I'm always ambitious motivation, that kind of drives me and who I am, but like I said, that's who I am. That's me every day just being myself, and this years obviously, I wouldn't even call it revenge or a bounce back,” Herro said. “It's just a year to be myself and just have fun and enjoy what I love to do, which is play basketball, and tonight, I mean a little bit of it, but it's still preseason.”
After the Heat missed out on Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard, questions were raised about Herro’s desire to remain in Miami. Despite speculation, he is willingly staying with the team, hoping to assist All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in winning an NBA championship.
Herro spent the summer ignoring the rumors by training with other stars, including Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid and Boston Celtics Jayson Tatum. For a 23-year-old, he is handling the second straight offseason of trade negotiations with maturity.
As the Heat’s regular season opener against the Detroit Pistons grows closer, Herro will continue to use the disrespect as motivation.
