Jimmy Butler has the right to show frustration towards the Miami Heat’s front office for their inability to acquire Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard.

However, Butler is known for his leadership and maturity, meaning he will likely move on from the situation. He has said multiple times that his goal is to bring a championship to the city of Miami.

Butler struggled to bond with his teammates and coaching staff in his early years with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. Since joining the Heat, Butler has proven himself as a leader.

Lillard would have increased Miami’s championship hopes, but that doesn’t mean they can’t compete without him. Last season, they reached the Finals as the No. 8 seed, which was the second time in NBA history accomplishing this feat.

One name mentioned on the Heat’s radar is former Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday. Despite not being of the same caliber as Lillard, he could provide veteran presence and elite perimeter defense.

Butler may not be happy with the outcome of the nearly three-month Lillard saga, but the Heat can only hope he looks to the future.
