Score Predictions for Hornets at Timberwolves

Our staff picks tonight's game between Charlotte and Minnesota.
In this story:

Desmond Johnson: Timberwolves 120, Hornets 103.

I'm just not confident picking the Hornets to win unless they are playing Detroit or Washington. Still without two starters with Hayward and Williams out. Anthony Edwards is a PROBLEM and Minnesota's size will bother Charlotte.

Prediction record: 7-9.

Pat Fitzsimmons: Timberwolves 110, Hornets 97.

LaMelo historically plays well against Anthony Edwards, but the Wolves are clearly the better team. With still no Mark Williams for the Hornets, I suspect Gobert and KAT will have their way and dominate the paint.

Prediction record: 2-0.

James Plowright: Timberwolves 119, Hornets 99.

Minnesota's size is going to cause all sorts of problems for the undermanned Hornets. Foul trouble, rebounds, interior scoring. This could be an ugly one for the Hornets despite their recent improved play.

Prediction record: 21-4.

Atticus Ferguson: Timberwolves 119, Hornets 95.

The Hornets did a respectable job of containing 76ers big man Joel Embiid on Saturday despite Mark Williams and Nick Richards being absent. The problem tonight is that Minnesota has Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert to be accounted for, making it that much more difficult for Charlotte's coaching staff to scheme ways to slow down the Timberwolves ability to score in the paint. Unless the Hornets are able to shoot lights out for a full four quarters, and get at least one of Minnesota's two star bigs into foul trouble, I don't see a path to snagging a road W tonight.

Prediction record: 11-3.
