Brandon Miller 'Doesn't Play Like His Age'

The Hornets have a star in the making.

The Charlotte Hornets have had some major swings and misses in the NBA Draft over the years, but 2023 first-round pick Brandon Miller is proving to be one of the few they squared up and hit a grand slam on.

Miller played a key role in the Hornets' 119-116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. He was active on both ends of the floor, finishing with a stat line of 20 points (7/15 FG, 4/7 3FG), five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

"The one thing about him is he's a quick learner," said Hornets head coach Steve Clifford. "He had a couple possessions in the first half where kind of tried to iso a little bit and it didn't work out well. And then the second half, he did everything just trying to create action off the ball. He made one of the biggest shots of the game, obviously - the three across from the bench. He just plays, man. He doesn't get frazzled. He doesn't worry about mistakes. He's focused on the next play. He has what you don't teach. That's his make up. He's into every dribble at each end of the floor and he has incredible composure."

"B-Mill, he did a great job," Miles Bridges added. "He doesn't play like his age. He was playing good for us defense and offense."

Through the first 18 games of his career, Miller is averaging 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
