Kai Jones Signs 10-Day Contract with Philadelphia 76ers

The former Hornets 1st round pick is back in the NBA

Kai Jones has been out of the NBA since the Charlotte Hornets waived him on October 11th, until now. The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Jones to a 10-day contract, giving him an opportunity to earn a roster spot. The Sixers are currently lacking front court depth due to Joel Embiid being out with an injured meniscus.

Despite Kai Jones not playing professionally since be waived by Charlotte, he did play for the Bahamas in the recent FIBA Qualifiers. The Hornets decided to waive Jones following a string of strange behaviors over the off-season resulting in him bizarrely requesting a trade. The short term nature of Jones' 10-day contract suggest the Sixers are curious to see how Jones conducts himself with a fresh new opportunity.
